12th March 2011 - UKISAR deploy to Japan
In the wake of the devastating earthquake and tsunami in Japan the UK International Search and Recue Team (UKISAR) is just one of many international teams being mobilised to Japan. This cames just days after members of the Team returned from the earthquake in New Zealand.
The Event Medicine Company holds medical equipment for UKISAR on 4 hours notice to deploy but this time things were complicated by the fact that the equipment had not returned from New Zealand. Members of our Logistics Team and HQ Staff worked through Friday 11th March to ensure we could deliver a second scale of equipment if needed. The “Go” was received at 0801hrs on Saturday 12th March and at 1010hrs the equipment shown in the photograph was collected by Hampshire Fire and Rescue personnel for a blue light run to Manchester Airport.
The Event Medicine Company is proud to support UKISAR and now the process starts to rebuild the equipment scales as one never knows when the next disaster will strike.
