Mr Martin Shea
Logistic Manager
Martin Shea has been the Event Medicine Company’s Logistic Manager since July 2006 having come to the Company from the Ministry of Defence Medical Supplies Agency where he was heading the Operational Readiness Module Building Team.
During his military service of over 20 years in the Army Medical Services he served in the UK, Germany, the Falkland Islands, Bosnia, Kosovo, Belize and Poland in a variety of posts including training, administration, primary care and medical supply. It was during this time with the Medical Supplies Agency that he worked closely with the Event Medicine Company at major air shows leading to his current appointment.
Upon leaving the Army he worked in Healthcare Insurance administration before joining the NHS working in operating theatres, intensive care and A&E Departments in Bristol, Winchester and Southampton. During this period his spare time was spent with the Voluntary Aid Societies in Bristol covering events such as powerboating in Bristol Docks, Bristol Balloon Fiesta and Weston-super-Mare Beach Racing. In addition he co-ordinated the cover to two league football grounds and several theatres in Bristol.
He is a trainer in First Aid at Work and defibrillation as well as maintaining an interest in pre-hospital and emergency medicine and integrating the provision of hospital skills into a mobile facility.
