Mr Ben Downer
Nurse Manager
Ben Downer is a Registered Nurse (Adult) who qualified from Southampton University in 2002. Since then he has worked extensively in Accident and Emergency Care and currently works as an Emergency Nurse Practitioner in a large semi-urban Emergency Department.
As well as working in the NHS Emergency Department environment Ben has many years experience working in pre-hospital care with a number of organisations around the country, including the NHS Ambulance Service, BASICS and various voluntary and private services. Through continuing professional development in this field he has progressed to the position of Emergency Care Practitioner.
He has extensive experience in event medical care and mass gatherings including football stadia, festivals, concerts, airshows and all types of sporting events. His experience includes not only the provision of direct clinical care but also the planning, management, control and delivery of medical services to an event.
Ben has gained two post-registration bachelors degrees in Clinical Nursing and Emergency Care Practice. He has also gained further professional qualifications in various aspects of pre-hospital emergency and trauma care and advanced life support in both adult and paediatric patients.
Since joining the Event Medicine Company Ben has worked extensively for the Company gaining experience in all of the types of events for which we provide medical support and our full range of services.
