The BUPA Great South Run
As one of the Great Run Series the Great South Run organised by Nova International is a major event in the road running calendar in Southern England.
Starting and finishing in Southsea, the route of the Great South Run takes runners around the streets of Portsmouth and Southsea.
The cover is a multi-agency organisation consisting of the South Central Ambulance Service, St John Ambulance and the Event Medicine Company.
We provide a professionally staffed Casualty Clearing Centre at the finish with a three resuscitation team capability along with primary care and a 10 bed holding facility.
As with all major deployments the Event Medicine Company has the capability on site for crisis expansion, in this case the equipment to provide an additional resuscitation team and an increase in the holding capacity.
